Chinese Immersion Comes to Franklin

Vancouver USA:  Chinese Immersion Comes to Franklin Beginning next year, Franklin Elementary School will add a Chinese Immersion program for incoming Kindergartners.  The class is available for all Vancouver School District kindergartners, and will be a full day program.  Parents are invited to attend one of three informational meetings offered: Feb. 24, March 24, April 21.  For more information, click here.

State of the City

Vancouver USA:  State of the City Mayor Royce Pollard will give his annual State of the City address on Thursday Feb. 26, at 10 am.  It will be held at the Hilton, Vancouver, WA in the Heritage Ballroom; doors open at 9:30.  Registration is required by calling the City Manager’s office at 487-8600.  A non-perishable food donation for the Salvation Army Stop Hunger Warehouse is suggested.

Clark County:  More Parks in Clark County The Greater Clark Parks District was approved by voters in 2005 and 21 new parks have been completed, or are under construction.   According to Clark County Public Works Director, Pete Capell,  “The park district program improves the quality of life for our residents, provides more outdoor recreation opportunities, and supports private-sector jobs by putting construction dollars back into the local economy.”  Visit Clark County, Washington for more information.

Dog Park Closing

Clark County:  Dog Park Closing The Dakota Memorial Off-Leash Dog Park will be closed for maintenance from 7:30 am to 3 pm Wednesday and Thursday, Feb 18-19.  Clark County is making improvements to the trail inside the park.  The rest of Pacific Community Park will remain open.  Click for more information about Off-Leash Dog Parks in Clark County.

Lantern Tour

Change Your Clock
