Clark County Neighbors: The Community Share Fair will be Sunday September 14, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 at Clark Public Utilities, 8600 NE 117th Ave (Orchards Service Center). The Share Fair gives residents a chance to donate unneeded items, learn about Clark County charities and receive receipts for tax-deductible donations. Participating charities can use appliances, baby supplies, bedding, linens, books, cell phones, clothes, eyeglasses, computers, canned food, furniture, musical instruments, personal items (diapers, toiletries), sports equipment, school supplies, tools and toys.
The fair will also include recycling stations for electronic items, athletic shoes and block foam. Last year more than 150 participants donated literally “tons” of items to help neighbors in need. Hazel Dell Neighbors: The Boys and Girls Club 2008 School Year Program begins September 15th. Returning member enrollment begins September 2, and new member orientation begins September 8th. The Boys and Girls Club provides a fun, safe, and constructive environment for kids ages 6-18. Salmon Creek Neighbors: “Awesome After School Enrichment”. Salmon Creek School and the YMCA are extending their after school enrichment programs. There are still after school enrichment classes running until 4:30, but now there is also the option of staying until 6 pm.
